What We Believe

At Olive Branch Fellowship, our faith is rooted in the Scriptures from Genesis through Revelation. We believe the Bible reveals God’s plan of redemption and His desire for His people to walk in relationship with Him. Our goal is to faithfully follow the teachings of Scripture and the example of the Messiah.

The following statements summarize the core beliefs that guide our teaching, worship, and life together as a congregation.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. The Scriptures reveal God’s character, His covenant with His people, and His plan of redemption through the Messiah.

God

We believe there is one God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who is holy, righteous, and faithful. He alone is worthy of worship and obedience.

Scripture References

Isaiah 45:5–6

Yeshua the Messiah

We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the promised Messiah of Israel and the Son of God. He came in fulfillment of the Scriptures, lived a sinless life, died for the sins of humanity, and rose again, bringing redemption and reconciliation with God.

Scripture References

Isaiah 53:5–6
Matthew 16:16
John 1:1–14
Acts 4:12
1 Corinthians 15:3–4

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in the Messiah. Through repentance and faith in Him, people receive forgiveness of sins and new life.

Ephesians 2:8–9
Romans 10:9–10

Obedience to God’s Commandments

We believe that loving God includes walking in obedience to His commandments. The instructions given in the Scriptures—including the Torah—reveal God’s character and guide His people in righteous living.

As a congregation, we seek to honor God by following His commandments, observing the Sabbath, and celebrating the biblical appointed times (feasts of the Lord). We believe obedience is not a way to earn salvation, but a response of love and faithfulness to the God who has redeemed us.

Scripture References

Deuteronomy 6:5–6
Deuteronomy 10:12–13
Ecclesiastes 12:13
John 14:15
1 John 2:3–6
Matthew 5:17–19

The Sabbath

We believe the Sabbath was established by God at creation as a day of rest and worship. It is a gift from God for His people and is set apart as holy.

Following the example found in Scripture, we gather on the seventh day of the week to worship, study God’s Word, and rest from our regular work.

The Sabbath reminds us that God is our Creator and Redeemer and provides a weekly time to focus on Him and grow in fellowship with one another.

Scripture References

Genesis 2:2–3
Exodus 20:8–11
Isaiah 58:13–14
Mark 2:27–28
Luke 4:16

The Biblical Feasts (Appointed Times)

We observe the biblical holidays appointed by the Lord in Scripture. These festivals remind us of God's faithfulness throughout history and reveal important aspects of His redemptive plan.

The appointed festivals include:

  • The Sabbath

  • Passover (Pesach) and the Feast of Unleavened Bread

  • Pentecost (Shavuot)

  • Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)

  • Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)

  • Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)

We also observe the historical memorials recorded in Scripture:

  • Purim

  • The Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah)

These celebrations serve as memorials of God's deliverance and faithfulness to His people throughout history.

The Unity of the Scriptures

We believe the entire Bible—from Genesis through Revelation—is the inspired Word of God and reveals one unified message.

The Torah, the Prophets, and the New Testament together reveal God’s plan of redemption through the Messiah and guide believers in how to live faithfully before God.

Jewish and Gentile Believers

We believe salvation is offered to all people through faith in the Messiah, both Jew and Gentile. Through Him, people from every nation are invited into God’s covenant family.

Jewish and Gentile believers remain who they are, yet together they become one people in the Messiah.

Our congregation welcomes people from all backgrounds who desire to worship God, study His Word, and grow in their faith.

Scripture References

Grace and Obedience

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in the Messiah. No one can earn salvation through their own works.

However, genuine faith produces a life of obedience. As followers of the Messiah, we desire to walk in God’s ways, keep His commandments, and live according to the instructions found in His Word.

Obedience is not about earning salvation but about responding with love and faithfulness to the God who has redeemed us.
