While there are many different interpretations of Scripture, Olive Branch Fellowship seeks to remain faithful to the teachings of the Bible. Because of this, there are certain doctrinal positions we do not agree with. The following teachings are ones we believe do not align with the full counsel of Scripture.

Replacement Theology

Replacement theology teaches that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s covenant plan and that God’s promises to Israel are no longer valid.

We believe the Scriptures teach that God’s promises to Israel remain and that Gentile believers are grafted into God’s covenant people rather than replacing Israel.

Scripture References

Romans 11:1–2
Romans 11:17–18
Jeremiah 31:35–37

Dual Covenant Theology

Dual covenant theology teaches that Jewish people and Gentile believers have separate paths to salvation.

We believe the Scriptures teach that salvation comes through the Messiah alone for both Jew and Gentile.

Scripture References

John 14:6
Acts 4:12
Romans 1:16

The Abolishment of the Torah

Some teach that the Torah and God’s commandments were abolished or made irrelevant after the coming of the Messiah.

We believe that the Scriptures show the Messiah affirmed the authority of God’s instructions and that His followers are called to walk in obedience to God’s Word.

Scripture References

Matthew 5:17–19
Psalm 119:142
Romans 7:12

The Biblical Feasts Were Only for Ancient Israel

Some believe the biblical feasts described in Scripture were only meant for ancient Israel and have no relevance for believers today.

We believe the feasts reveal God’s redemptive plan and continue to provide meaningful opportunities for worship, remembrance, and teaching.

Scripture References

Leviticus 23:1–2
Leviticus 23:4
Zechariah 14:16

Salvation by Works

Some teach that salvation can be earned through human effort or religious observance.

We believe the Scriptures clearly teach that salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in the Messiah.

Scripture References

Ephesians 2:8–9
Titus 3:5
Romans 10:9–10

Legalism

Some assume that following God’s commandments is an attempt to earn salvation.

We believe obedience to God’s commandments is a response of love and faithfulness to the God who has redeemed us.

Scripture References

John 14:15
1 John 2:3–6
Deuteronomy 6:5–6

KJV-Only Theology

Some teach that the King James Version is the only valid English translation of the Bible.

We believe the Scriptures were originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, and that many faithful translations help readers understand the Word of God.

Scripture References

2 Timothy 3:16
Nehemiah 8:8

Our Desire

Our desire is not to create division but to remain faithful to the teachings of Scripture. We seek to study the Word of God carefully and walk in obedience to Him as followers of the Messiah.
